Like most programs you pay for, Adobe Acrobatrequires that you enter a unique serial number before using it. So, before you can install or reinstall Adobe Acrobat, you'll need to find the serial number that came with the program.
If you've lost your serial number, there's a very good chance you can retrieve it but only if Adobe Acrobat is still installed and the computer it's on is working.
You might be able to find your Adobe Acrobat serial number if you've uninstalled the program but only if the serial number information was left in the Windows Registry. We'll go over everything you need to know below.
The Adobe Acrobat serial number is actually more of a product key than a serial number but the terms are often used interchangeably.
How to Find Your Adobe Acrobat Serial Number
The easiest way to find your Adobe Acrobat DC or Acrobat X serial number is with a product key finder program.
Product key finder programs automatically search your computer for the product keys and serial numbers that your software programs store in the registry, Adobe Acrobat included.
See our Free Product Key Finders list for a number of programs that do just this. Not only that, they'll find your Acrobat serial for free. Most of the programs in that list are small and really easy to use.
The programs we've linked to will find the serial number for any recent edition of Acrobat, including Adobe Acrobat DC (Pro or Standard), Adobe Acrobat X, Adobe Acrobat 9, etc.
For example, Belarc Advisor, one of our favorite key finder tools (and the program shown in the example below), will properly locate the serial number for any version of Adobe Acrobat you have. If you find that another does for sure, let me know so I can keep this page updated.
The serial numbers in this picture have been greyed out but you'll see yours listed on the right side in plain text.
Most product key finder programs are designed to find serial numbers and product keys for operating systems, like Windows 10 or Windows 8, but some of them find serial numbers for several other programs as well — programs like Adobe Acrobat.
Other Ways to Find a Lost Adobe Acrobat Serial
While a keyfinder tool is certainly the easiest way to do this, no, it's not the only way.
If you're a little more technically inclined, there are a few additional ways to get your hands on a lost Acrobat serial number:
Ask Adobe for Your Acrobat Serial Number
It'd be unwise of me to skip the obvious — maybe Adobe can help! Depending on how, when, and from whom you purchased Adobe Acrobat, you may be able to contact Adobe and get your Acrobat serial number from them.

Dig Up Your Acrobat Serial Number & Manually Decrypt It
Fortunately, the exact registry key that stores your Adobe Acrobat serial number is well known, as is a database file that stores it.
If you're comfortable in the Windows Registry, your Adobe Acrobat serial is located in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Below is the exact location, depending on the version of the program and whether or not you're running a 64-bit or 32-bit version of Windows.
64-bit:
32-bit:
If you see multiple folders under Adobe Acrobat, replace 11.0 in the path above to whatever version of Acrobat you have.
Your other option is to grab the cache.db file from C:Program Files (x86)Common FilesAdobeAdobe PCDcache and open it with any free SQLite database viewing tool.
Please know that this serial number is encrypted, meaning that what you find in the registry key or the database file is not the literal serial number you can enter to install Adobe Acrobat. You'll first have to decrypt the serial number.
The Adobe Acrobat serial number decryption process is fairly complex and has been well documented in this Super User thread, so we won't reinvent the wheel and post it here.
Acrobat Serial Number Generators & Cracks
Don't do that. There's no other way to put it.
While you may have come across Adobe Acrobat key generator programs or other kinds of Adobe Acrobat cracks, please know that these are not legal ways of obtaining a working serial number.
The only legal way of installing this program is by using a valid Adobe Acrobat serial number obtained through a legal purchase of the software.
If all else fails, you may be left with the final option of buying a new copy of the software. Amazon has great prices on most versions of Adobe Acrobat, plus options for previously used boxed copies as well.
Another option is to abandon Adobe Acrobat altogether and choose a free tool that does the same thing. Seriously. While not as robust, there are a number of other options out there.

I'm trying to get support for my Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477 FNW that I just bought but I cannot find the serial number on the printer anywhere. My wife has looked it over as well and has no idea. Free dual audio 720p movies.
This is so frustrating because you cannot get support unless you have it.
Also, I cannot get the printer to see 5ghz wifi networks. Is the printer ac wifi compatible? The manual says nothing about these issues.
Thanks in advance.

The printer is not 5G compatible. All wireless printers only work on the 2.4G band. Enable the 2.4G band with a different SSID than your 5G. Connect and print away.

Sure, rather than just respond, 'Your serial number is inside the door to the printer cartridges,' some idiot makes you sit thourgh five minutes of a YouTube video. This is exactly why your CS function sucks.

So how can I get the BIOS Serial with that problem.
You do not. You already provided your own answer, however the hardware you have has no serial number. People either did not set one at manufacture, or they forgot about it.
This is sadly quite common.

Depending on how you purchased your Adobe Student & Teacher edition product, you may have received a serial number or a redemption code.
You’ll need the serial number to register your product, update your product, upgrade to a Creative Cloud plan, or qualify for certain types of service plans. Use the redemption code—sent in less secure situations—to redeem your product license and get your serial number.
No serial number is needed for subscription or membership products. Simply sign in with your Adobe ID to activate your membership.
If you purchased a stand-alone version of a product—via a card, as a download, or on discs in a box (for example, Acrobat XI, Photoshop Elements, or Lightroom 6)—you will need your serial number to install the app. Enter your serial number when prompted during the installation of your app.
If you registered your product or downloaded it from Adobe.com, finding your serial number is simple. Adobe keeps track of it for you.
To see a list of your registered products and their serial numbers, sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
Note:
Having trouble with your Adobe ID? See Adobe ID, sign-in, and account help.
Click the Planstab, and then click My products in the left pane. A list of your registered products and serial numbers is displayed.

In an email from Adobe containing the serial number for the product you purchased. Look for the subject line 'Your Serial Number' or 'Your Serial Numbers.'
Redeem products purchased from a store or online retailer
No serial number is needed for membership or subscription products such as Creative Cloud - Student and Teacher plan. Simply sign in with your Adobe ID to activate your membership.
If you purchased a membership from a retailer, however, you may have received a redemption code—for example, beneath the scratch-off foil on the back of a prepaid card. If you have a redemption code, follow the steps below to redeem your code and activate your membership.
Redeem a redemption code to activate your membership.
Go to creative.adobe.com/educard and do one of the following:
- Have an Adobe ID? Enter it and your Adobe password, and click Sign In.
- Don't have an Adobe ID? Click Sign Up and follow the onscreen instructions.
Enter the required information regarding your academic status and click Continue.
Enter the 24-digit alphanumeric redemption code and click Activate Membership.
Note:
Redemption codes contain both letters and numbers. The other numeric codes such as the UPC code on your insert, card, or email are not your redemption code.
Read the renewal plan terms and click Accept Terms & Conditions.
If prompted, enter billing information and click Continue.
In the window that appears, click Get Started again.
You now have access to the apps that are included in your membership plan. Click Open the Creative Cloud app to start downloading your software.

What is your SOLIDWORKS serial number? This is a common question that we ask in Computer Aided Technology (CATI) Technical Support. You may be having an activation issue or an issue with the SOLIDWORKS Customer Portal. Whatever the reason, there are several easy ways to find the SOLIDWORKS serial number that was used to install SOLIDWORKS on your computer. This blog will step you through a few of the most common ways.
Use Help > About SOLIDWORKS to Show the SOLIDWORKS Serial Number
At the top left of your SOLIDWORKS screen, pull down the Help menu and select ‘About SOLIDWORKS’.
The About SOLIDWORKS dialog appears. As you can see, the Serial No. is hidden. Simply left mouse click Show Serial Number to reveal the serial number.
QUICK TIP: You can select the serial number text and use Ctrl+C or right mouse click to copy it.
Perform a Modify Installation to Show the SOLIDWORKS Serial Number
Another way to find what your SOLIDWORKS serial number is to use the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager. This is very useful, especially if you cannot open SOLIDWORKS and you need to see what serial number is installed.
First, open the Program and Features Control Panel by clicking the Windows Start button and going to Control Panel-Programs-Programs and Features. Another way is just to type Programs and Features after you click the Start button.
Once you navigate to the Program and Features window, select the SOLIDWORKS installation.
Note: If you have more than one version of SOLIDWORKS installed, all versions have the same serial number. So, just click on your latest installation.
You can left click to highlight SOLIDWORKS and then click the Change button. Or, you can right-click on SOLIDWORKS and pick Change.
The SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager window will appear. On the Welcome to the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager page, select the Modify the individual installation (on this computer) radio button, and then click Next.
That will take you to the Serial Number page of the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager.
Since we are only checking to see what the SOLIDWORKS serial number is, you can simply click the Cancel button to exit the SOLIDWORKS Installation Manager.
Use the Registry Editor to Show the SOLIDWORKS Serial Number
The last way to find your SOLIDWORKS serial number that we will look at is to view the SOLIDWORKS serial number in the Windows Registry.
Click the Windows Start button, type regedit, and hit Enter or click Run command.
Note: You need to have Admin rights to view the Registry Editor.
In the Registry Editor window, browse to: ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARESolidWorksLicensesSerial Numbers
The SOLIDWORKS key to the right displays the SOLIDWORKS serial number.
Hopefully, the next time that you are asked for your serial number, you will be able to find it easily using one of the above methods.
